Our client is seeking a strategic, hands-on Chief Financial Officer to lead the company’s financial strategy, accounting operations, reporting, compliance, and overall financial management. This individual will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team and will partner closely with the CEO to support business planning, operational decision-making, risk management, and long-term growth.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in finance, accounting, and executive leadership, with proven experience overseeing financial planning and analysis, cash flow management, financial reporting, audits, tax strategy, compliance, and banking relationships. This role requires a leader who can operate at both the strategic and tactical level, providing high-level financial guidance while ensuring accuracy, accountability, and discipline across day-to-day financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the company’s financial strategy, planning, reporting, and overall fiscal management
- Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to support strategic decision-making, business planning, and growth initiatives
- Develop and present financial, tax, and operational strategy recommendations to executive leadership
- Oversee financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial modeling, and performance reporting
- Prepare, review, and present financial statements, executive reports, cash flow projections, and key financial metrics
- Manage cash flow, cash management, working capital, and financial risk management
- Oversee accounting operations, internal controls, financial policies, and reporting processes
- Lead company audits and coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, lenders, and other financial partners
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial, tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements
- Manage and strengthen banking relationships, lending relationships, and other external financial partnerships
- Provide financial insight and analysis to support pricing, profitability, operational efficiency, capital planning, and business performance
- Partner with department leaders to improve financial visibility, forecasting accuracy, accountability, and cost management
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, controls, reporting tools, and overall financial infrastructure
- Support the organization’s long-term financial health through disciplined planning, sound controls, and proactive financial leadership
Qualifications:
- 7 to 10 years of progressive finance, accounting, or financial leadership experience
- Prior experience in a senior finance leadership role strongly preferred
- Strong financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analytical skills
- Experience overseeing financial statements, audits, cash flow, compliance, tax planning, and banking relationships
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to partner with executive leadership and provide strategic financial guidance
- Experience managing, mentoring, or leading finance and accounting teams preferred
- CPA or MBA preferred, but not required
- Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Strong business judgment, integrity, confidentiality, attention to detail, and decision-making ability
