The company has generated encouraging early clinical data and is preparing for its next phase of growth, including capital raising and expanded regulatory engagement.
About the Role
The CFO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board of Directors. This is a hands-on role suited to an executive who can both set financial strategy and execute at the operational level in a small-company environment.
Responsibilities

- Own and drive fundraising strategy, including private financing rounds and investor relations with institutional biotech/healthcare investors
- Manage relationships with existing and prospective investors, and represent the company in diligence processes
- Oversee accounting, financial controls, and reporting infrastructure; ensure GAAP compliance
- Advise the CEO and Board on capital structure, valuation, and strategic financial decisions
- Build out finance and accounting functions as the company scales, including potential future public-company readiness
- Support corporate development activities, including potential partnering or licensing discussions
Qualifications
- Prior CFO or senior finance leadership experience at a biotech/biopharma company, ideally clinical-stage
- Demonstrated track record leading or playing a central role in institutional financings (venture, crossover, or public)
- Strong existing relationships with institutional life sciences investors
- CPA and/or MBA required
- Deep understanding of GAAP and financial reporting for pre-revenue biotech companies
- Comfort operating in a lean, resource-constrained environment with direct hands-on involvement
- Excellent communication skills for Board- and investor-facing work
Compensation
Competitive base salary with a significant equity component and performance-based incentives, commensurate with experience.
