Compensation: $120,000- $130,000 base salary (plus performance bonus)
Schedule: Full-time, on-site

We are seeking a high-caliber, operationally focused General Manager for our client to lead a premier, tree care team in Florida. This is a critical leadership role responsible for the daily performance of a high-volume operation across a diverse territory.
As the General Manager, you will lead a specialized workforce of climbing and ground crews, overseeing the full P&L and modernizing operational workflows. This role requires a leader who can drive a culture of excellence and ensure the highest standards of safety and arboricultural integrity in one of the country’s most active green-industry markets.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & P&L Management
- Oversee all daily tree care operations, including pruning, removals, and plant health care (PHC), ensuring all work meets or exceeds ANSI A300 standards.
- Own the branch P&L; drive profitability through labor efficiency, equipment lifecycle management, and sophisticated crew routing.
- Modernize branch operations by implementing new technologies and data-driven systems to optimize fleet and equipment utilization.
- Report directly to the District Manager on key performance indicators (KPIs), focusing on safety metrics, margin analysis, and growth opportunities.
Team Management & Development
- Lead, mentor, and hold accountable a diverse team of certified arborists, climbing technicians, and field supervisors.
- Foster a high-performance culture that prioritizes safety (TCIA standards), professionalism, and career progression.
- Manage the leadership transition at the site level, ensuring team stability and morale while upgrading the branch's technical and technological skillset.
Sales & Growth Integration
- Partner closely with the sales team to ensure bid accuracy, project timelines, and service capacity are perfectly aligned.
- Provide a "technical-adjacent" perspective to identify high-value tree preservation opportunities within the existing customer base.
- Ensure the brand’s value proposition is consistently delivered by field staff to support organic growth and a premier market reputation.
Qualifications
- Certification (Required): Must hold an ISA Certified Arborist credential (or similar industry-recognized certification).
- Experience: 5+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume tree care or utility vegetation management environment.
- Scale: Proven track record of managing a large workforce (50+ employees) and multi-site operations.
- Financial Literacy: Deep understanding of P&L statements, crew labor costs, and capital expenditure forecasting for heavy equipment.
- Leadership Style: A "player-coach" mentality—comfortable in the field assessing canopy health or safety protocols but capable of high-level financial reporting and strategic planning.
