Work Location: Remote, with occasional support in the Washington, DC metropolitan area

 

Primary Place of Performance: Contractor site, with support to government facilities in the Washington, DC area as needed

Pay Rate: $93.02/hr – $94.96/hr

 

Experience Required: 10-15 years

 

Period of Performance:

  • Base Period: 6 months (1,040 hours)
  • Option Periods: Four (4) one-year options (2,080 hours each)
  • Final Option: 6 months (1,040 hours)

 

Position Overview

SMX Services & Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Billing Specialist to support telecom billing operations under the HHS EIS PMO Support Services program.

 

This role focuses on invoice validation, SLA compliance monitoring, billing analysis, financial reconciliation, and reporting, ensuring billing accuracy, cost transparency, and alignment with contractual and operational requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and validate telecom invoices and billing data for accuracy and compliance
  • Perform billing discrepancy analysis and support reconciliation efforts
  • Track and monitor SLA compliance related to billing and financial performance
  • Prepare detailed reports, summaries, and analytical findings
  • Support pricing validation and financial analysis activities
  • Collaborate with program management, operations teams, contract support, and stakeholders
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and billing records
  • Identify billing trends, anomalies, and potential risks
  • Support recurring reporting cycles and financial performance reviews

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Telecommunications, or a related field

 

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in billing analysis, invoice validation, telecom financial support, or reconciliation
  • Experience supporting recurring reporting and operational review processes
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and reporting tools
  • Ability to work in structured environments with recurring deadlines
  • Ability to identify discrepancies, trends, and billing issues
