Job Purpose

  • To ensure accuracy and timely reporting of financial and regulatory obligations of MNRB Group
  • To produce financial reports of MNRB Group and ensure that all accounting procedures and standards are properly adhered.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure all audit Management Letter Point, potential issue and deliverables issues resolve before final audit cycle end for MNRB Group including IT audit deliverables and Annual Report review by external auditor.
  • Coordinate discussions and streamlining deliverables from other departments to ensure its consistency when submitting to Financial Reporting for all entities for financial statement disclosure.
  • Ensure audit timeline is prepare before financial year ending audit kick-off (interim and year end), coordinate with external auditors and monitor deliverables by ensuring that all require documents and information submit within the deadline to external auditor by producing weekly reports to management.
  • Responsible on reviewing annual financial statements (MNRB Group and Company, SSB, MRDL, and Scholarship Fund) and annual report to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting procedures, policies and internal controls, including compliance with all laws, regulations, BNM Guidelines, MFRSs and SOPs.
  • Prepare annual budget and consolidation of Group budget and projections.
  • Continuously review and recommend improvements to financial and internal control procedures related to the financial reporting section including updating/standardization and compliance of MNRB Group's Finance policies and SOPs with the latest guidelines by statutory bodies across the entities.
  • Manage and coordinate with other departments for budget challenge sessions (Manpower, GSSU, IT, and sales).
  • Manage MFRS17 deliverables to be on time and comply with the standards by being a coordinator between Finance and actuarial of the subsidiaries and EY. This includes working with GCSP and CCD on the new info and format related to MFRS17 to be included in analyst briefing and Press Release.
  • Analyse and assist Management Expenses section to ensure that ME allocation is correctly captured by coordinating discussions and sharing ideas with other departments.
  • Recommend improvement to other sections of Group Finance department.
  • Manage MNRN Group Reporting automation project and coordinate the progress between subsidiaries, EY and other internal input provider.
  • Manage MFRS17 trainings for group.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy/Finance/Economics or equivalent
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent is highly preferred
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in Financial Reporting, accounting, or auditing
  • Prior experience in financial services, banking or insurance is often preferred
  • Proven experience managing financial statements, consolidations, and regulatory reporting
