Overview
Analyst/ Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence Jobs in Singapore, Singapore at Secretlab
Title: Analyst/ Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence
Company: Secretlab
Location: Singapore, Singapore
Secretlab is an international gaming chair brand seating over a million users worldwide, with our key markets in the United States, Europe and Singapore, where we are headquartered.
We're looking for an Analyst to build and maintain our BI Products (dashboards, reports, and data sources) that our stakeholders rely on to make decisions. You must genuinely care about the “why” – when receiving a “routine” business question, you’ll clarify the ask, understand the business objectives, agree on the right metrics, and ship a well-scoped deliverable within the timeline.
Within the Data team, you’ll collaborate with our Data Engineers throughout the delivery cycle — this begins with precise articulation of requirements, to contributing to discussions on building of marts & data sources, through final validation in UAT before anything reaches a stakeholder. You'll be a trusted partner to a variety of teams including Logistics, Marketing, Finance, and turn their reporting needs into effective BI products.
You'll be expected to ensure the correctness and usefulness of what you ship — validating your data sources before publishing, documenting the logic behind your dashboards and metrics, and following the naming conventions, certified sources, and dashboard standards that keep BI consistent, flagging any gaps you spot along the way.
What will your week look like?
Business Intelligence Activities
- Build new dashboards and visualisations for stakeholder requests, especially around new product launches and campaigns. Maintain and refresh existing dashboards — fix broken visualisations, update metric logic, and tune performance.
- Pair with Data Engineers on data mart requirements — write requirements, validate outputs in UAT, and confirm correctness before publishing.
- Run short data literacy sessions or walkthroughs with stakeholders to lift self-service usage.
- Triage incoming data and dashboard requests — clarify scope, estimate effort, and queue them sensibly.
Stakeholder & Delivery Activities
- Sit in on stakeholder meetings to surface upcoming reporting needs early.
- Document metric definitions and dashboard logic in Confluence as work is delivered.
- Review your own work before handoff — check filters, totals, joins, and formatting against a Definition of Done.
Responsibilities
Business Intelligence
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and data sources that stakeholders can confidently use to make decisions. Translate routine business questions into well-scoped analytical deliverables — clarify the ask, agree on metrics, and ship within timelines.
- Validate data sources before publishing — numbers must be right, definitions consistent, and formatting clean. Document dashboard logic, metric definitions, and data source lineage so others can maintain the work. Support self-service adoption — answer metric clarifications, run dashboard walkthroughs, and help business users get to the insight on their own.
- Flag data quality issues, deprecated sources, and broken dashboards proactively rather than waiting for them to be reported.
- Administer and maintain Tableau Server — monitor performance, manage user access and permissions, handle platform-level configuration, and ensure uptime and reliability for the wider organisation.
Stakeholder & Delivery
- Work directly with business teams (E-commerce, Marketing, Ops, Finance, CRM) to understand reporting needs and turn them into deliverables.
- Write clear Jira tickets and dashboard requirements so engineers and reviewers can act without ambiguity.
- Work closely with Data Engineers throughout delivery — articulate data requirements precisely, contribute to mart and data source design discussions, and validate outputs in UAT end-to-end before anything reaches a stakeholder.
- Tailor explanations to the audience — analysts, managers, and VPs each need a different level of detail. Take feedback well, iterate quickly, and close the loop with stakeholders once changes are shipped.
- Contribute to BI governance — naming conventions, certified data sources, dashboard standards — by following them consistently and flagging gaps.
Technical Requirements
- Deep Tableau expertise — complex calculations (including LODs), able to build a wide range of chart types, dashboard design thinking, and good workbook hygiene (performance, maintainability, readability)
- Administers Tableau Server — user and permission management, performance monitoring, and platform upkeep.
- Solid SQL — joins, window functions, aggregations against a data warehouse; can debug wrong-number queries. Working knowledge of data modelling — fact/dimension tables, grain, reporting marts.
- Comfortable with exploratory analysis — Python, R, or notebooks a plus.
- Familiarity with a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery) is a plus.
- Bonus: Power BI or Looker experience; exposure to dbt, Git, or Jira-based delivery workflows.
Personality Requirements
- Genuine concern for the business problems behind a request — wants to understand the "why" before building the "what".
- Detail-oriented and quality-focused — uncomfortable shipping a dashboard with wrong
- numbers.
- Candid and collaborative — asks clarifying questions early, gives and receives feedback well.
- Communicates clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Eager to learn — picks up new tools, domains, and conventions quickly.
- Reliable on timelines — flags risks early rather than missing deadlines silently.
