The Accounts Payable Accountant I is responsible for supporting core accounting functions, including General Ledger (GL), fixed assets, and VAT, while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies. The role contributes to accurate and timely financial reporting and plays a key part in month-end closing activities.
This position also involves supporting and guiding team members, acting as a primary point of contact for operational matters, and collaborating closely with the Accounting Manager and Financial Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate GL accounts and perform balance sheet reconciliations
- Support month-end closing and financial reporting (P&L and balance sheet)
- Manage fixed assets accounting and ensure proper recording and tracking
- Calculate, reconcile, and ensure timely VAT submissions
- Prepare cash reconciliations and support audit requirements
- Monitor compliance with financial policies and regulations
- Support, coach, and act as a backup for team members
- Assist in process improvements and handle ad hoc financial tasks
Key Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Relevant experience within a finance or accounting function
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and IFRS
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics 365, Exact)
