Accounting Manager

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategically minded Accounting Manager for our client (publicly traded healthcare company in Orange County). This role will have a unique split
***** 50% on traditional revenue accounting responsibilities and 50% on supporting new business ventures, including the launch of hospitals, therapy clinics, and rehabilitation facilities. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, experience in public companies, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset to help shape financial processes for these growing operations.

Primary Role and **

Supervise and manage accounting operations related to revenue, accounts receivable, and related expenses.

Ensure compliance with US GAAP and stay informed on regulatory changes.

Support accounting close processes, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes.

Perform variance analysis on revenue trends, accounts receivable, and bad debt allowance.

Collaborate with operations and GL teams to enhance financial reporting and insights.

Special Projects & Business Expansion

Provide accounting guidance on new business ventures, including hospitals, standalone therapy clinics, autism care centers, and rehab facilities.

Assess and implement financial controls for these ventures to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Research and apply revenue recognition principles for new payment methodologies (e.g., grants, state funding models).

Design process improvements to enhance efficiencies while maintaining strong internal controls.

Assist with audits and financial reporting related to both existing operations and new business lines.

Collaboration & Leadership

Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and communicate potential changes in revenue recognition.

Lead or support ad-hoc projects as needed, ensuring timely and accurate financial insights.

Foster a collaborative environment and provide strategic guidance to help drive team success.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).

5-7 years of accounting experience, ideally a mix of public accounting (Big 4 or large firm) and industry experience.

Public company and SOX experience highly preferred.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and collaboration skills.

Workday ERP or One Stream experience is a plus but not required.

Experience in skilled nursing or healthcare is preferred but not mandatory.

Compensation & **

Anticipated Base **** $125,000 – $150,000

Bonus ***** ~10-15% (subject to company performance)
