Responsibilities

  • Key Accountabilities:

    Service and retain an assigned set of client relationships through exceptional planning and care (75%)

  • Support planning, case design, and implementation in partnership with firm leaders (15%)
  • Identify wallet share opportunities within your assigned client set (10%)
  • Service & Retention (75%):
    Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned book of client relationships, with a relentless focus on retention as the primary measure of success
  • Provide objective, unbiased financial advice to a diverse mix of clients by analyzing investment opportunities, tax planning, and client needs
  • Communicate with clients by understanding their needs, objectives, goals, and concerns, and translate those into actionable, disciplined plans
  • Prepare thoroughly for every client review: review all required paperwork, planning outputs, portfolio data, and prior meeting notes in advance
  • Be present in client review meetings and significant client calls throughout the lifecycle, progressing from supporting role to lead role as credibility is established
  • Deliver client service in tandem with the support team, including planning updates, portfolio changes and reviews, performance review, and proactive opportunity identification
  • Coordinate complete wealth management services on behalf of clients, including financial planning, estate planning, tax strategies, and portfolio management
  • Collaborate with clients’ other professionals, including attorneys, CPAs, and insurance specialists
  • Maintain accurate and timely notes and records regarding all client matters in the firm’s CRM
  • Rigorously adhere to firm processes and systems around review meetings, communication cadence, and relationship management
  • Keep leadership and other client team members fully informed on all active and pending client matters
  • Support (15%):
    Lead data gathering, case design, scenario building, and financial plan development for assigned clients and other select cases
  • Develop comprehensive financial plans for clients with complex needs across retirement income, tax, estate, education funding, insurance, and risk management
  • Leverage the firm’s planning technology stack to model scenarios, stress test plans, and surface insights that drive better client decisions
  • Personally guide clients through onboarding, account setup, and asset transfer in coordination with the operations team and the primary point of contact
  • Collaborate with internal team members to design and deliver tailored planning strategies that reflect the firm’s holistic, fiduciary philosophy
  • Growth (10%):
    Identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships by ensuring clients are taking full advantage of the firm’s planning and investment capabilities
  • Surface organic growth opportunities including tax planning engagements, estate strategy refinement, insurance review, and held away asset consolidation
  • Translate plan output into clear conversations that help clients understand the additional value the firm can deliver across their household balance sheet

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, accounting, finance, economics, or a related program
  • 5+ years of progressive client-facing experience in financial planning, wealth management, or investment advisory, with a demonstrated ability to develop and manage plans and client relationships
  • CFP® designation required; advanced degrees or additional certifications welcome (CFA, ChFC, AIF, CWS, RICP, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with financial planning, CRM, portfolio management, and document management software
  • Experience with our tech stack a plus (Redtail, Holistiplan, eMoney, Charles Schwab, Orion, GReminders, Riskalyze, )
  • Deep understanding of the RIA channel and the independent fiduciary advice model
  • A genuine interest in serving and caring for clients
  • Financial planning and wealth management acumen, judgment, and experience
  • Working ability with complex client cases and the willingness to grow toward subject matter expertise on high net worth planning
