Our Client is seeking a strategic and hands-on VP of Finance / CFO to for a PE backed manufacturing company in the DFW metroplex to lead the finance and accounting function through this next phase of transformation and expansion.

Position Overview:

Reporting to and partnering with the CEO, the VP of Finance will function as the top finance accounting professional to help support, scale and guide company through anticipated organic and inorganic growth profitably. The VP of Finance will ensure profitable growth and strategic initiatives are met through oversight of the entire accounting, finance and treasury function maintaining accurate accounting records, providing financial reports and analytics for better decision making, evaluating and diligencing M&A targets, treasury, developing and building a high performing team and overseeing the establishment of department budgets in accordance with executive goals and objectives for successful business operations.

The VP of Finance will also be responsible for the preparation of board materials and will have direct interaction with the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in public accounting (Big 4 or similar), be a licensed CPA, and have a proven track record of leadership in a manufacturing environment, preferably within a private equity backed company.

Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for the entire accounting and operations function, inclusive of payroll, in accordance with GAAP standards including maintenance and oversight the maintenance of financial statements, bank reconciliations and tax reports and the FP&A, reporting function.

Authoring of financial reporting and analysis that gives actionable insights and meaning to sales, earnings, profits, cash balances and other financial results for short and long term growth plans which will this person will then present to the Board of Directors, CEO, key stakeholders, and the PE sponsor to provide actionable recommendations.

M&A due diligence projects.

Leading automation initiatives across the company to increase efficiency, cost reduction, and to provide improved information for decision making

Manage the audit and the audit function.

Actively engage with operations to create a seamless financial picture of the business.

Manage third party relationships including the tax and accounting public accounting firms, HR provider, and banks and lending institutions.

Oversee complex or non-routine situations and provides data for periodic reports to executive management.

Identify, develop, and execute analysis of business initiatives, product launches and/or new offerings.

Process improvement mindset in all areas.

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

Advanced degree and/or CPA, CMA strongly preferred.

Previous experience in an accounting, finance or auditing is required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Strong systems experience, specifically with Excel.

Ability to toggle between tactical and strategic mindset.

M&A experience a plus
