We are seeking an experienced accounting leader for an established organization to oversee the company’s core financial operations and reporting functions. This individual will play a key role on the leadership team, while leading and developing the accounting organization and partnering across the business to drive financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.

This is an onsite role in Greenville, SC.

Essential Duties & Functions

  • Oversee all core accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, accounts payable, cash management, and loan portfolio accounting
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, including development of financial projections and variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS, including areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, credit loss estimates, and tax provisions
  • Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to support strategic decision-making and operational execution
  • Drive process improvements through system enhancements, automation, and optimization of accounting workflows
  • Manage and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Support audits, regulatory reporting, and internal controls to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data
  • Oversee tax-related matters across federal, state, and local jurisdictions
  • Maintain adherence to company policies and uphold high standards of ethics and professionalism

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, including leadership responsibility
  • Prior experience in public accounting strongly preferred
  • Experience within the financial services industry is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS, with the ability to apply technical guidance in a practical environment
  • Experience with ERP systems and a track record of improving processes through technology and automation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work onsite and collaborate closely with internal teams
