About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Vice President of Retail to lead our retail organization and drive operational excellence, customer experience, and sustainable business growth across our retail network. This executive leadership role is responsible for developing retail strategies, optimizing store performance, enhancing customer engagement, and building high-performing teams that consistently deliver outstanding business results.
The ideal candidate is an experienced retail executive with a proven track record of leading multi-location retail operations, developing scalable business strategies, and fostering a customer-first culture. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the organization's retail strategy in alignment with corporate objectives and long-term growth plans.
- Lead and oversee retail operations across multiple markets, ensuring consistent execution of operational standards and customer experience initiatives.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing retail leadership team focused on operational excellence, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Establish performance goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive sales performance, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall business success.
- Collaborate closely with Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Human Resources, Customer Experience, and Executive Leadership to align retail initiatives with business priorities.
- Analyze sales trends, customer insights, and market conditions to identify opportunities for growth, operational improvements, and market expansion.
- Drive initiatives that enhance the in-store and omnichannel customer experience while ensuring brand consistency across all retail locations.
- Oversee workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and leadership coaching across the retail organization.
- Optimize retail processes, operational workflows, and resource allocation to improve productivity and profitability.
- Lead retail transformation initiatives, including technology adoption, operational modernization, and process improvement.
- Represent the retail organization in executive leadership discussions and contribute to enterprise-wide strategic planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing, Operations, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in retail operations, retail management, or multi-unit business leadership.
- Proven success leading large-scale retail organizations and delivering sustained operational and financial performance.
- Strong expertise in retail operations, customer experience, workforce leadership, business planning, and performance management.
- Experience managing geographically distributed retail teams and multiple business locations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and executive stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Experience with retail management systems, POS platforms, CRM systems, business intelligence tools, and operational reporting solutions.
- Ability to lead organizational change and manage multiple strategic initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Executive retail leadership experience within specialty retail, consumer products, luxury goods, apparel, home goods, technology, healthcare retail, or other multi-location retail environments.
- Experience leading omnichannel retail strategies that integrate physical and digital customer experiences.
- Background in retail expansion, operational transformation, or enterprise performance improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated success building high-performing retail organizations that deliver exceptional customer experiences and sustainable business growth.
