Job Description Summary

  • The Vice President of Global Trade will drive and provide trade finance and treasury solutions to our clients and lead the way in sales activities including planning and setting strategies for GT sales activities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Originate potential trade finance and supply chain management opportunities with existing/ target customers, working alongside Coverage, Industry Groups and other product teams.
  • Provide trade advisory and structured solutions to clients to address their working capital and CAPEX requirement.
  • Develop business relationship with customers in Hong Kong, South China and North Asia, including regional/ cross-border deal aspect.
  • Maintain close relationships with existing and prospect customers and develop a deep understanding of the customers' business and banking requirements.
  • Possess and apply up-to-date industry/ market knowledge on trade finance structures including operations and technology driven techniques that will support customer growth ambitions.
  • Understand customers' business strategy and needs, to push for utilisation of existing limits and to identify new opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory policies/ guidelines and the bank's internal policies.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or related discipline
  • 8 years (or above) of working experience in financial industry. International trade / international business-related working experience is preferable
  • Extensive knowledge of trade finance products and treasury solutions
  • Good understanding of the market trends, competitive environment and regulatory environment
  • Detailed knowledge if Credit and Risk including techniques to mitigate risk
  • Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer needs through matching a broad range of products and services
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Be flexible and adaptable to the change, with strong commitment with positive and proactive attitude towards challenge
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and the ability to deliver compelling presentations in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
