VP of Finance/Controller (Mortgage Lending) – Consulting
We are partnering with a mortgage lending organization that offers a wide range of mortgage products to identify a VP of Finance – Financial Reporting for a consulting assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with strong mortgage banking experience to play a key role in financial reporting, revenue analysis, and branch-level profitability.
Position Overview:
This role will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting and performance analysis across multiple retail locations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience within mortgage lending or banking environments, with a strong understanding of Accounting for Mortgage Bankers (AMB) and revenue allocation methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial reporting packages and P&L statements for multiple retail branches.
- Perform revenue and expense allocations across locations to ensure accurate branch-level profitability.
- Calculate and analyze loan officer commissions.
- Support month-end close and financial reporting processes related to mortgage banking operations.
- Provide insights into financial performance, trends, and variances across branches.
- Ensure compliance with mortgage banking accounting practices (AMB).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in mortgage lending, mortgage banking, or financial services.
- Strong background in financial reporting, P&L analysis, and revenue allocations.
- Experience calculating commissions and payroll allocations within a lending environment.
- Advanced Excel skills (large data sets, formulas, pivot tables, etc.).
- Familiarity with Accounting for Mortgage Bankers (AMB) and mortgage banking practices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
