A rapidly growing Texas-based commercial landscaping and outdoor services organization is seeking a strategic and operationally minded Head of Finance / Director of Finance to join its executive leadership team in Midlothian, Texas.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role serves as the senior financial leader for the business — overseeing accounting and finance operations while helping drive profitability, operational performance, cash flow strategy, and scalable growth initiatives across the company.

Executive Financial Leadership
- Serve as a strategic financial partner to the executive leadership team
- Oversee the Controller and accounting team while fostering accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
- Help build the financial infrastructure necessary to support long-term growth objectives
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Own company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
- Analyze business performance and provide actionable recommendations to leadership
- Partner with operational leaders to improve profitability, efficiency, and decision-making
Cash Flow & Capital Management
- Lead cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and working capital management
- Improve cash conversion cycles and financial visibility across the organization
- Support banking relationships, financing initiatives, and capital allocation decisions
Operational Finance & Performance Management
- Develop and track KPIs including gross margin, labor efficiency, job profitability, and project performance
- Improve visibility into job costing, WIP reporting, and operational financial metrics
- Partner directly with operations teams to drive measurable financial outcomes
Systems, Scalability & Process Improvement
- Improve financial systems, reporting capabilities, and operational data visibility
- Build scalable processes to support continued organizational growth
- Drive automation and workflow efficiencies across finance and operational functions
They are looking for someone with 7-10 years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience with strong FP&A, cash flow management, and operational finance expertise. Preferred experience within construction, landscaping, field services, or other project-based industries with deep understanding of job costing and WIP reporting. The successful candidate will need to have a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and CPA and/or MBA preferred
