Role Description

The Venture Capital Analyst / Investment Associate / VC Manager is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing investment opportunities in early-stage and growth-stage companies. The role focuses on sourcing high-potential startups, conducting due diligence, and supporting investment decisions that drive portfolio returns and strategic growth.

Key responsibilities include sourcing and screening deal flow from startups, accelerators, founders, and industry networks. The role involves conducting market research, competitive analysis, and financial modeling to assess business viability, scalability, and investment potential.

The associate supports end-to-end investment processes including valuation, due diligence, deal structuring, and preparation of investment memos for investment committee review. Post-investment, the role may involve portfolio monitoring, performance tracking, and supporting portfolio companies with strategic guidance.

In addition, the role includes building relationships with entrepreneurs, co-investors, and industry stakeholders, as well as staying updated on emerging technologies, market trends, and innovation ecosystems. The VC Manager level may also take ownership of deals and lead investment negotiations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field (MBA is a strong advantage)
  • Analyst: 1–3 years | Associate: 3–6 years | Manager: 6–10+ years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, consulting, or startup environments
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills
  • Understanding of startup ecosystems, business models, and growth metrics
  • Experience in due diligence, investment analysis, or deal execution
  • Strong market research and competitive analysis capabilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for investment memos and pitches
  • Ability to evaluate risk, scalability, and return potential of early-stage companies
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills with founders and investors
  • Knowledge of cap tables, term sheets, and investment structures is an advantage
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with curiosity about innovation and emerging industries
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-uncertainty environments
