Job Description
We’re seeking a talented individual to join our Valuation and Modelling team as a Valuations Assistant Manager. In this role you will prepare a wide range of valuations for accounting, tax and commercial purposes, in both contentious and non‑contentious circumstances. Responsibilities include business and share valuations, valuations of intangible assets (often post‑acquisition), and incentive scheme awards such as share options and management share plans.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and expanding team, with locations in London, Birmingham, Cambridge or Newcastle.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for various valuation assignments and prepare autonomously the analysis, execution and reporting involved.
- Actively participate in client discussions.
- Assist managers, senior managers and above with business development (e.g., proposals for new business).
- Assist in preparing scope of work and associated documentation.
Qualifications
- Education to degree level or equivalent.
- Completed or working towards a relevant professional qualification (e.g., CFA or Chartered Accountant (ACA/CA/ACCA)).
- Significant experience in business valuations gained within a leading advisory firm with international coverage and clients.
- Extensive experience in valuation methodologies and modelling and first‑class valuation technical skills, including for accounting and commercial purposes such as share options, derivatives, and growth shares.
- Up‑to‑date working knowledge of key valuation methodologies and best practice modelling.
- Experience in managing a team of junior valuers.
- Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills—critical for model creation and report preparation, with a high competency in these formats.
- Experience in business development and willingness to develop these skills.
- Ability to generate contacts within the industry and a willingness to develop such contacts.
- Fluency in business English—both written and oral.
