We are hiring an Underwriting Supervisor to join our team.
Role Summary
The Underwriting Supervisor will oversee day-to-day underwriting operations across property and casualty lines, ensuring risks are evaluated, priced, and documented in line with company policies, reinsurance arrangements, and Insurance Authority regulations. The role will also provide technical guidance to underwriters, review risks within delegated authority, and escalate complex or high-value cases when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily underwriting operations to ensure efficiency and service quality
- Review and approve risks within delegated authority limits
- Ensure underwriting decisions align with company policies, reinsurance treaties, and regulatory requirements
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and support to underwriting team members
- Monitor turnaround times and underwriting SLAs
- Coordinate with brokers, sales teams, and clients to obtain and clarify risk information
- Maintain accurate underwriting documentation and ensure audit readiness
- Support portfolio analysis, reporting, and underwriting performance reviews
- Identify underwriting trends, loss patterns, and process improvement opportunities
- Support compliance with Insurance Authority requirements and internal standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in property & casualty underwriting
- At least 1–2 years in a senior underwriting or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of non-motor lines including property, liability, engineering, marine, and accident
- Good understanding of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and pricing
- Familiarity with reinsurance structures and facultative support
- Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in underwriting systems and reporting tools such as Excel or Power BI
- Knowledge of Saudi insurance market practices and Insurance Authority regulations is preferred
- Professional certifications such as CII, CPCU, or equivalent are a plus
