Role Purpose

This role is responsible for the accurate execution of tax operations and ensuring compliance, accuracy in tax calculations, reconciliations, reporting, and audit readiness within a managed services environment. The role requires a disciplined approach to execution, adherence to established procedures and controls, timely resolution of exceptions, and support for statutory reporting and period-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Processing & Execution

  • Prepare and execute tax-related activities including calculation and filings of corporate VAT / GST / WHT/ property tax, tax reconciliations between GL, sub-ledgers, tax reports including income tax provision and deferred tax calculations, and other statutory filings in accordance with local and international tax regulations on a timely basis.
  • Prepare and execute timely and accurate tax planning/scheduling and advisory activities, such as transfer pricing and cross-border transactions, remittance of tax payments, incl. estimated taxes and final settlements.
  • Maintain and update tax documentation and compliance records to support tax positions and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
  • Support onshore tax team on tax audits and inquiries by preparing necessary documentation.

Controls, Compliance & Audit

  • Execute assigned tax controls with full documentation while ensuring compliance with tax regulations, treasury policies, and internal controls.
  • Support internal and external audits with reconciliations, explanations, and evidence.

Issue Resolution & Analysis

  • Investigate tax discrepancies independently.
  • Perform root cause analysis and propose corrective actions.
  • Escalate high-risk issues with clear impact assessment.

SAP & Systems Ownership

  • Perform advanced transactional and analytical work in SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA.
  • Validate tax codes, postings, and cash-related transactions.
  • Support master data checks related to tax processes.

Stakeholder & Team Support

  • Participate in finance transformation initiatives, including ERP system enhancements (e.g., SAP S/4 HANA).
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of internal controls across Aster entities.
  • Execute governance-related actions (e.g., maintain Manual of Authorities).

Continuous Improvement

  • Identifyopportunities to improvecomplianceefficiency and accuracy.
  • Support SOP updates and process improvements.
  • Contribute to ESSA-driven initiatives.

Education Requirement

  • Minimum S1 (Bachelor’sdegree) in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation.
  • S2 (Master’sdegree) is an advantage.

Recommended Certifications

  • Brevet Pajak (A/B/C)
  • CPA / CA / ACCA
  • Indonesian Registered Accountant (Ak.)

Skills & Experience RequiredExperience

This role is designed for finance professionalsoperatingwithin structured compliance and cash management environments.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • 2-7 years of experience in tax related roles.
  • Prior experience in a big 4 firm or shared services or managed services environments is preferred.
  • Prior exposure to regulated industries, manufacturing, or petrochemical sectors and/or hands on experience with ERP system (i.e. SAP) would be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Tax calculations and reconciliations
  • Audit processes and regulatory compliance
  • Governance, risk management and internal control frameworks
  • Practical experience in tax calculations and reconciliations, as well as various aspects of direct and indirect tax compliance including corporate income tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing, GST, and other tax reporting requirements (OECD BEPS Pillar Two)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
