SVP, Director of Finance, Private Markets

– $260,000 Base + $90,000 Bonus

– S+ Tier Alternative Asset Manager

– Hybrid (3 days in office) – Public/Private mix + CPA is ideal here.

– Audit with financial services, asset management, or alternative investments clients.

– Private side experience in alternative investment strategies, including private credit, PE, hedge funds, and multi-strategy frameworks.

– If just Public experience or just Private experience, we can still discuss, but in that case, will need CPA.

This individual will serve as a senior finance leader with day-to-day responsibility for managing accounting and finance workstreams across the private markets platform.

Fund Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Direct the full scope of accounting operations, including quarterly closing cycles, NAV production, income/expense allocations, and the calculation of distribution waterfalls and fund-level returns.
  • Validate and analyze complex distribution waterfalls in alignment with governing legal agreements, ensuring the precision of carried interest, preferred returns, and catch-up provisions.
  • Evaluate partnership and fund-level performance metrics, including IRRs and other key indicators, on a quarterly and ad hoc basis.
  • Facilitate internal management reporting regarding AUM, revenue, and fund economics for presentation to senior leadership and key internal stakeholders.

Fund Operations & Liquidity Management

  • Supervise credit facility administration, encompassing covenant compliance monitoring, borrowing base analysis, and formal lender reporting.
  • Direct the investor capital call and distribution lifecycle, overseeing the timing of notices, funding mechanics, and final reconciliations.

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Act as a senior finance liaison to Investment Teams on business development and management initiatives, including:
  • The structuring of new funds and Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs), including fee frameworks and allocation logic.
  • Advising on investment structures to mitigate cash and tax drag (utilizing blockers and navigating ECI/FIRPTA considerations).
  • Addressing sophisticated investor due diligence inquiries (DDQs).

Regulatory, Compliance & Tax Coordination

  • Partner with Compliance teams to ensure the timely fulfillment of regulatory filings, such as Form PF, Form ADV, AIFMD, and other jurisdictional requirements.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration between Tax, Legal, and Valuation teams, as well as external auditors and fund administrators, to maintain seamless fund operations.

Governance, Controls & Process Improvement

  • Champion automation and process-enhancement initiatives to scale fund accounting workflows and improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage external service provider relationships (administrators, auditors, and tax consultants), ensuring high standards for deliverables and SLA compliance.
  • Provide strategic support for due diligence related to new platform launches, acquisitions, and special projects.
