Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic supply chain plan aligned with business goals, ensuring cost-effective procurement, reliable delivery, and quality performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a cross-functional team including Buyers, Planners/Schedulers, Materials Handlers, and Logistics Coordinators.
  • Oversee all procurement activities, including strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation.
  • Direct production planning and scheduling to optimize throughput, reduce lead times, and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships; drive supplier development initiatives to improve cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Manage inventory across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to achieve target turns and minimize carrying costs.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales to support new product introductions (NPI), engineering changes, and customer requirements.
  • Own the Supply Chain budget, including cost reduction initiatives and capital expenditure planning.
  • Optimize ERP/MRP systems and processes to improve planning accuracy, forecasting, and material flow.
  • Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to align demand, supply, capacity, and financial objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, trade, and company standards related to procurement and logistics.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery, supplier quality, inventory turns, cost savings, and PPV.
  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including freight negotiations and distribution optimization.
  • Support coordination within a unionized workforce environment as it relates to materials and warehouse operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of Operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, or a related field (MBA or Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and supply chain functions.
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, production planning, and inventory management.
  • Hands-on experience working in Lean Manufacturing environments with knowledge of Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • APICS certifications (CPIM, CSCP) or ISM CPSM certification.
  • Experience in logistics management and freight negotiations.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
