Role Description

The Strategic Sourcing Manager leads category strategy and supplier management across MRO, indirect, and packaging to drive cost savings, supply continuity, and operational efficiency. This role partners cross-functionally with operations, manufacturing, and finance to develop data-driven sourcing strategies, optimize total cost of ownership, and mitigate supply risk. The position balances strategic leadership with execution in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Compensation: $100,000 annual salary, plus benefits package including health insurance and paid time off

Qualifications

  • Experience in Supplier Evaluation and Supplier Management to ensure quality, performance, and alignment with company standards
  • Skills in Contract Negotiation and Procurement to secure competitive agreements and optimize supplier efficiency
  • Expertise in Supplier Development to foster long-term, strategic partnerships with vendors
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities with a focus on cost savings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and vendors
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software, ERP Systems, Excel or relevant tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) are an advantage
  • 7+ years in strategic sourcing or category management. 
  • Must be 21 years of age (or older) at the time of hire. 
  • Experience in agriculture, manufacturing, cannabis or related industries is a plus
  • Preference for candidate able to work onsite in Lompoc, CA several times per week or month; exceptions may be made for the right candidate.
