Our client is seeking a highly analytical and commercially oriented Strategic Finance Director to partner with Sales, Solutions, Operations, and executive leadership on deal structuring and modeling, pricing recommendations, and the design of effective commercial agreements tied to new business opportunities. This is a highly visible commercial finance role at the center of decision making, helping shape how the business evaluates customer opportunities, structures deals, and drives profitable growth as it scales. A key focus of the role will be supporting the company’s evolution toward a more value-based pricing model.

The ideal candidate knows how to operate in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive revenue growth and profitability. They build the analytical frameworks and models that help leadership understand key drivers of margin, pricing performance, customer profitability, and operational efficiency. With strong pattern recognition across business models, they quickly identify the key levers behind growth, margin, and EBITDA, and are comfortable working in “white space” without established systems or paths, building structure, clarity, and solutions from the ground up.

Key Position Responsibilities

Pricing Strategy, Performance Improvement & Analytics

  • Support the company’s evolution toward a value-based pricing approach by building frameworks that improve visibility into pricing effectiveness and commercial performance
  • Identify margin expansion and performance improvement opportunities through analysis of pricing, customer economics, and operational drivers
  • Diagnose margin leakage, pricing inconsistencies, and variation in commercial outcomes to inform actionable recommendations
  • Conduct benchmarking and market analysis to strengthen pricing and commercial decision making
  • Ensure pricing insights are embedded into decision making for new business opportunities and broader commercial strategy

Financial Modeling & Business Insights

  • Build scenario-based models assessing profitability, revenue growth, and operational assumptions
  • Translate complex commercial and operational data into structured analysis for leadership
  • Use CRM, pipeline, and operational data to support forecasting and sales visibility
  • Analyze funnel dynamics, retention, and KPI trends to isolate drivers of revenue and margin performance
  • Develop reporting tools that support planning, forecasting, and decision making

Commercial Strategy & Deal Support

  • Partner on structuring and evaluating new customer opportunities and commercial proposals
  • Build pricing and deal models that balance customer requirements, operational feasibility, and financial outcomes
  • Support negotiation preparation through analysis of risks, tradeoffs, and deal economics
  • Produce transaction summaries and decision support materials for leadership review
  • Translate analytical outputs into executable deal structures and commercial terms

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; MBA preferred
  • Highly analytical with pattern recognition across business models, developed through experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, Transaction Advisory / Deal Advisory, Corporate Development, Strategy Consulting, or Strategic / Commercial FP&A
  • Financial modeling and advanced Excel skills, with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach to building and working through complex models
  • Exposure to GTM strategy, pricing, monetization, revenue optimization, or performance improvement work, with understanding of commercial levers such as pricing, incentives, and customer dynamics on business performance
  • Comfortable working with unstructured or incomplete data and operating in white space without defined systems or paths, building structure, clarity, and solutions from the ground up
  • Cross-functional partner with the ability to build trust, align stakeholders, and influence decision making
  • Ability to synthesize financial, operational, and market data into clear, actionable recommendations
