Our client is a leading landscaping and construction services company based in the U.S., specializing in landscape management, irrigation, and property enhancements. They have a strong reputation for quality work, client satisfaction, and operational excellence across residential and commercial projects.
About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to support the internal corporate accounting functions and manage the owner’s personal financial records. This role will work closely with the CEO and leadership team on financial reporting, bookkeeping, system migrations, and special projects.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, experienced in working directly with executives, and comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Manage personal accounting for the owner (small trusts, LLCs) using QuickBooks and Excel.
Perform full-cycle accounting tasks: general ledger management, bank reconciliations, AP/AR, and financial statement preparation.
Support financial projects such as system migrations and data conversions (e.g., assisting with Spectrum construction software migration).
Prepare sales tax reports, special financial analysis, and ad hoc financial projects.
Maintain organized digital records for accounting compliance and audits.
Work closely with leadership to ensure accurate, timely reporting and problem-solving.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve financial systems and processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
5+ years of accounting experience (preferably supporting U.S.-based companies).
Advanced QuickBooks (Desktop and Online) and strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas; Power Query is a plus).
Previous experience supporting executive leadership is highly preferred.
Familiarity with accounting in the construction, property management, or landscaping industries is a plus.
Experience with system conversions or migrations (e.g., to Spectrum, RealPage, Yardy, etc.) is advantageous.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Remote work setup: dual monitors, high-speed internet, and a quiet workspace required.
Work Schedule
Full-Time (40 hours/week)
U.S. business hours (Central Time preferred)
Flexibility required to collaborate closely with the CEO and leadership team
