Our nonprofit client in Olympia is seeking a Senior VP of Finance in a #1 level position reporting to the Executive Director.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and long-range financial planning.
- Oversee monthly and annual close processes, financial statement preparation, tax filings, and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, IRS regulations, and controls.
- Prepare and present financial reports, analysis, and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board.
- Manage accounting operations including AP/AR, banking relationships, investments, and purchasing functions.
- Supervise and develop finance, HR, and purchasing staff while fostering a collaborative culture
- Oversee HR operations including payroll, benefits, recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
- Direct organizational IT strategy, vendor relationships, systems reliability, cybersecurity, and technology procurement.
- Manage organizational risk, insurance programs, claims, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Review, negotiate, and administer vendor, consultant, and partner contracts while maintaining centralized records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; CPA, Master’s degree, or equivalent certification preferred.
- 7–10+ years of senior financial leadership experience with strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting and GAAP.
- Experience overseeing HR, IT, insurance, contracts, and regulatory compliance functions.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to influence leadership teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment with high ethics, integrity, and professionalism.
