Role Description The Senior Vice President, Business Planning is a full-time, remote leadership role responsible for driving the organization’s long-term and short-term planning processes. This position oversees the development of business plans, financial models, and strategic roadmaps that align with corporate objectives and support sustainable growth. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading cross-functional planning cycles, coordinating budgeting and forecasting activities, and synthesizing complex data into actionable insights for executive leadership. The role collaborates closely with finance, operations, product, and commercial teams to evaluate business performance, assess risk, and identify opportunities for investment and cost optimization. The Senior Vice President also mentors planning and analytics teams, implements best practices, and ensures that business planning frameworks are consistent, transparent, and adaptable to changing market conditions.
Qualifications
- Strong Business Planning experience, including ownership of multi-year plans, operational plans, and performance tracking frameworks.
- Advanced Analytical Skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets, build models, and present insights clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Finance and Budgeting expertise, including forecasting, variance analysis, capital allocation, and resource optimization.
- Demonstrated Strategic Planning skills, with experience designing and executing corporate strategy, market assessments, and scenario planning.
- Proven leadership experience managing senior-level teams, fostering collaboration, and guiding cross-functional initiatives.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence decisions and build alignment at the executive level.
- Comfort working in a remote, distributed environment, with strong self-management and organizational skills.
- Relevant advanced degree (e.g., MBA, master’s in finance, economics, or related field) or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Experience in data-driven or analytics-focused organizations is highly beneficial; exposure to technology or consulting environments is a plus.
