Senior Staff Accountant Position Overview

The Senior Staff Accountant will play a critical role in supporting month‑end close, cash and investment activity, fixed assets, and T&E processes during a period of significant acquisition‑related transition. This is a high‑ownership, high‑accountability role requiring strong communication, reliability, and initiative.

Top Responsibilities & Time Allocation 1. Month-End Close — ~50%

  • Full ownership of monthly close activities, including journal entries, account and bank reconciliations, variance analysis, and fixed asset entries.

  • Prepare and post routine and non‑routine entries, including manual JEs for fixed assets and investment activities.

  • Perform real‑time transaction matching in Net Suite and Excel; ensure coding accuracy and follow up with AP and other teams to resolve discrepancies.

2. Routine Cash, T&E, Fixed Assets, Reporting & Project Support — ~50%

  • Book and reconcile cash transactions (including several hundred monthly transactions across multiple bank accounts).

  • Support investment activity tracking and reconciliation.

  • Perform 2–3‑way matching for cash activity and coding validation.

  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and support monthly depreciation entries.

  • Prepare routine and ad‑hoc reporting in Excel and Flo Qast.

  • Assist with M&A integration activities, process improvements, and supplemental accounting projects.

  • Support transitional workload gaps across the accounting team.

Process Walkthrough Month-End Close

  • Review statements, match transactions, prepare journal entries, complete reconciliations, and perform variance analysis.

  • Validate data flow from statements → reconciliations → GL.

  • Coordinate with AP and cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate coding and timely close deliverables.

Cash, T&E, and Fixed Assets

  • Match cash activity daily/weekly in Net Suite and Excel.

  • Reconcile bank accounts, investment accounts, and fixed asset subledgers.

  • Follow up with internal teams to resolve coding issues and ensure completeness.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain reconciliation documentation in Excel and Flo Qast.

  • Prepare schedules supporting close, audits, and integration activities.

Minimum Requirements Must-Haves

  • Net Suite experience (required)

  • Excel proficiency, including pivot tables and basic formulas

  • Strong reliability and proactive communication via Slack/email

  • Demonstrated ownership of deliverables and ability to work independently

  • Ability to manage deadlines and maintain initiative in a fast‑moving environment

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with Flo Qast

  • Prior M&A / integration exposure

Work Schedule & Expectations

  • 32–40 hours/week

  • Must be available during close window and 5–10 business days after month‑end
