Job purpose:
- The role is part of the Head Office reporting team, ensuring that all financial reporting requirements to Commerzbank Head Office are met for the Asia Region
- Take active role in Finance related projects as they arise
- Responsible for maintaining accounting static data in IT systems for the entities, such as account hierarchy, mapping tables, ensuring information is up to date and consistent within the region where possible
- Work closely with other areas of Finance Asia to provide additional ad hoc reports
- To act as the key contact for the financial reporting of one or more entities within the Asia region, as assigned by the Group Head Finance. Responsibility for all regular reporting to Head Office, which include submissions under IFRS and HGB (German GAAP) and may include additional regulatory, controlling or tax information
- To closely liaise with the Finance teams in the serviced locations to both understand the financials and update the local teams of any developments as the case may be
- To work on Finance related projects
- Key to performing this role is an ability to work both independently to meet the Head Office reporting deadlines and alongside team members to meet the additional requirements as they may arise. Further, good communication skills are required, both verbal and written, for interaction with key stakeholders such as Head Office colleagues, internal and external auditors and other departments
Key activities:
- Responsible for the quality, quantity and timeliness of all Head Office Reporting related tasks for one or more entities in the Asia region
- To ensure timely and high quality submissions of reports for entities under own responsibility
- To provide accounting related advice and support to the business units / regional Head Office through the diagnosis of financial issues and the proposal of solutions
- Act as the main contact for the entities under own responsibility for monthly reporting, liaison with Head Office and services entities, internal and external auditors and other departments
- Performing regular analysis of movements within the financials and discuss with relevant stakeholders
Formal education:
- Bachelor’s Degree holder
- Professional qualification beneficial
Specialist knowledge (work experience, further qualification):
- Experience in an accounting department in the financial industry beneficial
- Proficient in IFRS, knowledge in HGB / German GAAP beneficial
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Good team player
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Process orientated with ability to analyse and recommend /drive improvements
- Service orientated to key clients and stakeholders
- Able to work with minimum supervision and under time pressure with tight deadlines
- Proficient in MS Office application, SAP knowledge beneficial
- Language skills: English required
