A10 Networks is seeking a strategic finance leader to join as a Senior Manager, FP&A. This highly visible role is responsible for financial planning and analysis across R&D, G&A, and corporate finance.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position functions as a player-coach, requiring strong people leadership combined with a hands-on work ethic and willingness to execute the work directly.

You will manage one direct report supporting G&A and corporate finance while serving as the primary finance partner to R&D and Product leadership. The role focuses on strengthening capital allocation, enforcing ROI discipline on product investments, and ensuring R&D spend is aligned with market opportunity, bookings performance, and long-term growth strategy.

By owning corporate finance and enterprise-level reporting, you will connect product-level investment decisions to company-wide financial outcomes, translating disciplined R&D investments into improved margins, cash flow, and overall corporate performance.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Functional Ownership

  • Lead FP&A support for R&D and G&A, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and strategic resource planning
  • Manage, coach, and develop one direct report, ensuring high-quality analysis, forecasting accuracy, and strong business partnership
  • Partner with functional leaders to align financial plans with business priorities, operating goals, and performance objectives

R&D & Product Investment Strategy

  • Serve as the primary finance partner to R&D, driving investment prioritization, ROI analysis, and portfolio trade-off decisions
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to align R&D spend with market demand, revenue opportunity, bookings performance, and long-term strategy
  • Lead Product Business Reviews, delivering insights on product performance, investment returns, and resource allocation decisions
  • Build and scale financial frameworks to evaluate new product initiatives, innovation investments, and long-term R&D strategy

Corporate Reporting & Strategic Planning

  • Own corporate financial reporting, including monthly and quarterly management reporting, executive dashboards, and enterprise performance analysis
  • Develop analytical models and KPI frameworks that improve enterprise-wide visibility, accountability, and decision-making
  • Support earnings cycles, investor relations metrics, and competitive benchmarking
  • Contribute to long-range strategic and financial planning, helping align company-wide investment priorities, and capital allocation

Skills And Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; CPA or MBA is a plus
  • Previous Roles: 8+ years of experience as a corporate or investment banking analyst or in a similar strategic finance role
  • Leadership: Proven people management skills with experience developing and mentoring high-performing teams
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of corporate functions (Finance, Legal, HR, IT) and R&D operations
  • Analytical Expertise: Advanced modeling and analytical capabilities; ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Process Improvement: Track record of implementing procurement, budgeting, or forecasting processes that drive measurable efficiencies
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial leaders and influence senior stakeholders
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Microsoft Excel, knowledge of Adaptive a plus

Targeted compensation guideline: $170,000 – $180,000. Compensation will vary based on number of factors, including market demand for specific skills, role type, job level, and individual qualifications. Final salary offers are determined by considerations including, but not limited to, subject matter expertise, demonstrated skill level, relevant experience, geographic location, education, certifications, and training.
