A growing energy infrastructure platform is seeking a Senior Controller to join its team in NY, reporting directly to the CEO.
The company currently owns and operates utility-scale battery energy storage assets in ERCOT and is entering a major growth phase following a significant transaction and broader platform expansion. With additional generation and storage projects planned, the platform is scaling rapidly and building out its finance and accounting infrastructure alongside that growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the accounting function across the platform and its project entities
- Lead month-end close, financial reporting, and audit processes
- Manage accounting across multi-entity and project-level structures
- Support tax equity, project finance, and investor reporting activities
- Partner with leadership on systems, controls, and process improvements as the company scales
- Lead and mentor the existing accounting team, including a Director of Accounting and staff accountant
- Interface with external auditors, lenders, tax advisors, and legal partners
Qualifications
- CPA required
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience within energy, infrastructure, project finance, or other asset-intensive industries preferred
- Strong understanding of multi-entity accounting structures and GAAP reporting
- Exposure to project finance and/or tax equity structures strongly preferred
- Comfortable operating in a lean, high-growth environment with evolving processes
