Overview

This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior, high-visibility role within a dynamic and growing investment management and venture capital firm with a diverse portfolio across real estate and emerging businesses. You will play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy, ensuring compliance, and supporting business expansion, while working closely with senior leadership in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Financial Controller to take full ownership of the finance function across the group and its Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs). This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial operations, statutory compliance, and strategic financial management.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted financial steward to the leadership team, ensuring robust financial governance while also contributing to operational efficiency and business growth.

Essential Requirements (Must-Have)

  • ACCA qualified (or equivalent) – ESSENTIAL
  • Proven experience in a senior Financial Controller or similar leadership role
  • Demonstrable experience preparing and filing statutory company accounts with Companies House – ESSENTIAL
  • Strong experience managing full financial reporting cycles across multiple entities
  • Deep knowledge of UK accounting standards, tax, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience managing multi-entity structures (ideally SPVs, investment or real estate environments)
  • Comfortable taking ownership of both strategic finance and hands-on operational / administrative responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Control

  • Take full ownership of the group’s financial control function, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting
  • Lead the preparation, review, and filing of statutory company accounts with Companies House, ensuring full compliance with UK regulatory requirements
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes across all entities
  • Oversee consolidated financial reporting, including board packs, dashboards, and investment analysis
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to provide strategic financial insight and support decision-making

Accounting & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all financial policies, statutory obligations, and regulatory frameworks
  • Oversee all tax matters across the group, including VAT, Corporation Tax, Capital Gains Tax, and National Insurance
  • Manage audits and liaise with external accountants, auditors, and advisors
  • Maintain and continuously improve financial controls, processes, and systems

Operational Finance & Bookkeeping Oversight

  • Oversee all group bookkeeping activities, including those relating to SPVs and executive accounts
  • Supervise invoice processing, expense management, and bank reconciliations
  • Monitor and manage cash flow across multiple entities, ensuring optimal liquidity
  • Support the Finance Director with financial planning and forecasting

Investment & Property Operations Support

  • Collaborate with the Portfolio Manager to support operational aspects of investment properties
  • Assist with financial and administrative elements of property management (e.g. coordinating valuations, access, and reporting)
  • Provide financial input into investment proposals and portfolio performance tracking

Administrative & Operational Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of light but essential office and operational administration.
  • Managing and overseeing correspondence across multiple SPVs
  • Handling and organising company post and official documentation
  • Supporting general office coordination where required
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day financial and operational coordination across the business
  • Drive efficiencies in administrative and financial workflows
  • Demonstrate a hands-on approach and willingness to support broader business operations when needed
