Job Summary – Financial Services Accountants provide financial support to local school districts through various services such as Payroll, Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliation, and Monthly Oversight. They work under the direction of the IMS Business Coordinator. They also provide ASCENDER software support and training to Region 7 LEA’s.

Bachelor Degree in Accounting
Experience:
2 years of related experience
Experience in General Accounting

Major Responsibilites and Duties:
Perform chart of accounts review, initial status/clean-up of bank reconciliations, reconcile/balance TRS, benefits, and 941 reports for districts
Assist LEAs with budget preparation and analysis; state template preparation; state allotment, federal grants, and state grants monitoring.
Receive and process for payment accounts payabe invoices, purchase orders, etc. for check and credit card payments to vendors of Financial Services Cooperative LEAs.
Post employee time and leave transactions in BIS system (abiding by TEC, state and federal labor laws) for payroll processing of employees of Financial Service Cooperative LEAs.
Communicate with LEA for all needed documentation for payroll, Accounts Payable, and Bank Reconciliation receiving and sharing documents securely via a secure cloud file transfer system.This includes but is not limited to W-9s, employee time, and generated PDFs from processes.
Add and/or update Vendor files in the BIS system.
Maintain and update employee payroll information in BIS system.
Post payment and reconcile purchase orders in BIS system ensuring completeness of the invoices and shipments with LEA Liaison.
Run payroll calculations and post payroll generating employee checks and/or electronic wage & earning statements for distribution.
Print an process wages and earnings via EFT, payroll deduction checks, payroll taxes via EFTPS system, and TRS payments via TRAQS and TexNet.
Post vendor checks and upload PDFs of checks for district printing.
Prepare quarterly and annual forms including, but not limited to, Form 941, Forms 1099, W-2s.
Review all payroll an vendor distributions regularly comparing budget to actual.
Work with LEA liaison and Business Coordinator to prepare needed adjustments and journal entries and enter/post in BIS system.
Perform data entry as needed for any Financial Services areas
Display knowledge and use effective planning strategies for the completion of continuing projects and activities
ASCENDER software support and training for Region 7 LEAs
Be aware of and abide by the policies and procedures in use by the ESC
Adhere to IMS support procedures
Prepare federal expenditure reports
