We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support financial planning, forecasting, and analysis within a government contracting environment. This role will partner closely with finance leadership, program managers, and operational teams to drive financial performance, support strategic decision-making, and ensure compliance with government regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes across multiple programs and business units
- Perform variance analysis (budget vs. actuals) and provide actionable insights to leadership
- Support monthly financial reporting packages, including executive-level presentations
- Partner with program managers to monitor contract performance, funding, and profitability
- Analyze revenue, cost, and margin trends across contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M, etc.)
- Assist with indirect rate development, monitoring, and forecasting (wrap rates, fringe, G&A, overhead)
- Support long-range planning and strategic financial modeling initiatives
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, including FAR, CAS, and DCAA requirements
- Work cross-functionally with accounting to ensure accurate revenue recognition and cost allocations
- Develop and improve financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools
- Support ad hoc analysis for executive leadership and business development efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 4–7+ years of FP&A or financial analysis experience, preferably in government contracting
- Strong understanding of GovCon financial concepts (indirect rates, contract types, revenue recognition)
- Experience working with ERP systems such as Costpoint, Unanet, or Deltek
- Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables, scenario analysis)
- Experience with financial planning tools (Adaptive, Anaplan, or similar) preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments
