About the Company
Our client is a home furnishing retailer. They are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who will be responsible for supporting the preparation, analysis, and delivery of accurate and timely financial statements and related disclosures for Leon’s retail operations. This role ensures compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS), supports audit requirements, and contributes to the continuous improvement of financial reporting processes and internal controls.
As a key member of the Finance team, the Senior Financial Analyst partners closely with the Controller, FP&A, and operational leaders to provide insightful financial analysis, maintain data integrity, and support business decision-making in a fast-paced, multi-location retail environment.

About the Opportunity
- Financial Reporting & Close Process. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Execute key components of the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and post journal entries and perform account reconciliations.
- Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards (IFRS).
- Compliance & Audit. Support internal and external audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor requests.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory, tax, and financial reporting requirements.
- Maintain and enhance documentation supporting financial reporting processes and controls.
- Consolidation & Technical Accounting. Manage financial consolidations, including intercompany transactions and eliminations where applicable.
- Research and apply technical accounting guidance for complex transactions.
- Support the implementation of new accounting standards and policies.
- Internal Controls & Process Improvement. Support the maintenance and enhancement of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Support automation initiatives and optimization of ERP and reporting systems.
- Financial Analysis & Business Support. Provide analysis of financial results, including variance analysis and key performance indicators.
- Partner with FP&A to ensure alignment between financial reporting and forecasting.
- Support management reporting and preparation of materials for senior leadership.
- Analyze trends and KPIs to support strategic decision-making
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
- CPA designation (or equivalent) preferred.
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience supporting month-end close, financial reporting processes and supporting audits.
- Experience in a retail, multi-location, or distribution environment preferred.
Salary Range
$85,000 – $90,000/year
