Senior Financial Accountant – Permanent Role
Melbourne CBD | Hybrid Working (2 days office)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join a values‑led organisation in a permanent role, based in the Melbourne CBD (close to public transport), with hybrid working.
This role sits within a high‑performing finance function and reports into a strong, collaborative leadership team known for being supportive, commercially minded and genuinely invested in their people.
The Opportunity
This is a broad, hands‑on financial accounting role where you’ll play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong controls and continuous improvement across systems and processes. You’ll also work closely with FP&A, AP/AR, senior stakeholders and external partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Month‑end and year‑end financial close, including balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of statutory financial statements and support through external audits
- Oversight of general ledger, asset accounting, project accounting and grant reporting
- Supporting and improving finance systems, processes, controls and workflows
- Partnering with leaders across the business to provide clear, practical financial advice
About You
You’ll bring:
- CA or CPA qualification
- Strong experience in financial accounting, ideally within a complex or regulated environment
- Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, GST and statutory reporting
- A proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement and collaboration
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and contributing beyond the numbers
