FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT – CANBERRA
Robert Half is working with a growing organisation operating across multiple entities, currently undergoing a period of expansion and operational change.
This role offers the chance to join a developing finance function and contribute to both day-to-day reporting and broader process improvement initiatives.
The Role
This is a hands-on Financial Accountant position supporting core financial reporting, compliance, and reconciliation activities within a multi-entity environment. You will work closely with senior stakeholders while contributing to process improvement and system efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end close and preparation of financial reports
- Prepare journals, including accruals and prepayments
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations across key accounts
- Support intercompany accounting and reconciliations
- Assist with indirect tax reporting and compliance requirements
- Contribute to audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
- Maintain financial data integrity and support reporting accuracy
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and controls
- Provide general support across finance operations as required
About You
Essential
- CA or CPA qualified (or working towards)
- Experience in financial accounting or audit
- Strong reconciliation and reporting skills
- Understanding of core accounting principles and compliance
- Exposure to multi-entity or group structures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Desirable
- Experience within a fast-paced or evolving environment
- Exposure to ERP or cloud-based accounting systems
- Involvement in process improvement initiatives
