Job Objectives:

To support the investment accounting and operations functions by ensuring accurate and timely processing of investment transactions, reconciliations, and reporting, while maintaining compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements, and contributing to efficient and well-controlled investment processes.

Individual Responsibilities:

Handle end-to-end investment operations activities, including trade capture, confirmation and settlement monitoring, corporate actions processing, income collection (dividends and coupons), and reconciliation of cash and holdings with custodians and internal records.

• Assist the Manager in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end investment accounting close processes, including preparation of schedules, journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.

• Perform investment reconciliations (transactions, positions, valuations, and cash) and ensure timely identification and follow-up of any discrepancies.

• Prepare accounting entries in accordance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies, ensuring proper documentation and audit trails are maintained.

• Investigate and follow up on reconciling items and operational issues, and escalate where appropriate.

• Liaise with custodians, fund managers and internal stakeholders to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of investment data and reporting.

• Support the preparation of investment-related reports, financial disclosures, and audit schedules.

• Assist in responding to internal and external audit queries, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required information.

• Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and operational procedures.

• Support process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and automation efforts to improve efficiency and controls.

Education/Academic Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

Professional/Technical Qualifications & License:

ACCA is an added advantage

Functional knowledge/Technical skill:

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial analysis is crucial. Familiarity with investment accounting standards, such as IFRS or GAAP, is essential for accurate and compliant financial reporting.

• Comprehensive knowledge of investment products and instruments. Understanding the characteristics, valuation methods, and accounting treatment for different investment types is essential.

Work Experience:

At least 2 – 3 year working experience in investment accounting and reporting.
