Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Business Planning to lead strategic and financial planning initiatives in support of technical scouting, innovation, and long-term growth. This role requires a strong combination of business acumen, financial expertise, and cross-functional leadership to develop and execute strategic business cases, support M&A activities, and drive market-informed decision-making.

The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and trusted leader who operates independently, collaborates effectively across functions, and brings a structured approach to complex business challenges. This individual will play a critical role in shaping the company’s growth strategy through both organic initiatives and strategic transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and financial leadership to support Technical Scouting and Innovation initiatives.
  • Develop and build comprehensive business plans for strategic growth opportunities, including both organic and inorganic initiatives.
  • Lead financial modeling and business case development, including evaluation of investment rationale, business models, and target markets.
  • Support M&A activities, including valuations, due diligence, data analysis, and deal execution.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, strategy, operations, and technical teams to align on business case assumptions, scenario modeling, and execution plans.
  • Drive integration planning efforts for acquired or partnered businesses to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Establish and manage market forecasting processes, including development of market taxonomy, analytics, and modeling frameworks.
  • Conduct detailed market assessments to inform strategic planning and investment decisions.
  • Contribute to overall business strategy development, including evaluation of intellectual property opportunities and competitive positioning.
  • Provide clear communication of business insights, risks, and opportunities to executive leadership.
  • Manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously with strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in business planning, corporate strategy, finance, or related roles, preferably within a high-tech, semiconductor, or photonics-related industry.
  • Strong experience in financial modeling, business case development, and strategic analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting M&A activities, including valuation, due diligence, and deal execution.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical and market information into actionable business strategies.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technical, financial, and operational teams.
  • Strong understanding of market analysis, forecasting methodologies, and competitive dynamics.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and reliability, with a strong track record of delivering results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
