Overview:
Our client, a well-known and established retail organization, is seeking a Senior Director of Accounting to lead key accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting. This role will oversee critical accounting functions while partnering with senior leadership to support business growth and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, with a strong focus on revenue recognition
- Review and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Partner cross-functionally with finance, FP&A, and operations teams
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors
- Drive process improvements and scalability within the accounting function
Qualifications:
- 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
- Strong public accounting background (Big 4 or equivalent preferred)
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, particularly revenue recognition principles
- Proven experience managing and developing teams
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
