Senior Cost Accountant

Responsibilities
- Lead the costing function through regular review and setup of standard costs
- Execute month‑end close activities consistent with current schedules – includes journal entries, reserve analyses, SOX, and account reconciliations
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including standard cost maintenance, cycle counting, physical inventories, and accounting for obsolete and out‑of‑spec inventory
- Check and clear data on labor and material costs burden and expense items, inventory, and profit‑and‑loss adjustments
- Develop and measure estimates versus standard and actual profitability
- Develop measurements and report Key Performance Indicators
- Distribute costs between the various divisions of management and production
- Classify production costs into wages, material, and overhead
- Support month‑end and year‑end general ledger close and financial reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance is required
- Publicly traded experience is a plus (SOX)
- Cost accounting knowledge
- Manufacturing experience: 2+ years
- ERP software experience; SAP, Hyperion, Business Intelligence
- MBA / CMA / CPA preferred
Compensation
$90,000 – $110,000 Base + Bonus
