Job Overview
The Financial Director is responsible for the overall financial management of the organization, supporting the Executive Director in achieving the agency’s financial goals. This role involves: accounting functions, accounts receivable, billings & collections, accounts payable, budgeting, cash-flow, financial reporting, institutional financing, lines of credit, and providing guidance on compliance with applicable Federal regulations and terms & conditions grant awards

Duties:

Oversee financial policies and procedures for the accurate and consistent recording and reporting of all financial matters including budgeting, external financial reporting, internal financial reporting, grant analysis, capital funds tracking, project cost accounting, project and operational performance analysis

· Efficiently provide periodic reports to the Board of Directors and compile internal cost studies and grant applications

· Monitors, processes, and maintains all financial records of original entry for agency automated accounting system; i.e. journals, ledgers, accounts and other fiscal records

· Prepares payroll processing and reporting.

· Prepares bank reconciliation reports.

· Maintains agency equipment inventory and records.

· Monitors administrative requirements and cost allocations for agency programs.

· Understands the fund accounting issues of Federally-funded nonprofit organizations.

· Participates in and furnishes all requested information for department monitoring and auditing.

· Maintains accounting files and other necessary program documents to ensure rules, regulations, and codes are being met.

· Report to appropriate persons; situations of visible signs of child abuse and neglect or clients struggling with substance abuse, mental and emotional disorders and other pressures.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Travel as required.

2. Performs other duties on committees (internal, statewide, regional or national) as assigned or requested.

3. Attends staff meetings and board meetings as required.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in accounting

Education/Training Required:

· A bachelor’s degree in accounting

· 2+ years of financial management/ supervisory experience in a leadership role ,advanced knowledge of financial-related software applications and reporting tools, i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

· Any combination of training and experience which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying

1 to 2 years accounting experience in a nonprofit organization preferred

Experience and Skills :

· 2 to 4 years experience in accounting. CPA or MBA preferred

· Knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures.

· Knowledge of OMB Circular A-110, A-122 and A-133 and Uniform Guidance 2 CFR Part 200 preferred

· Valid driver’s license and insurance.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills

· Good problem solving skills.

· Ability to work independently under the general direction of the executive director.

· Maintains a professional attitude towards the position, duties and the agency. Must exercise creativity, initiative and sound judgment. Leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills are also required.

· Maintains maximum efficiency in use of time, materials, equipment and vehicles.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
