Position Overview

The Senior Accounting Manager is a key player-coach role responsible for the operational integrity of Pay Ready's finance function. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role owns the accounting close process, including revenue accounting and all general ledger activities, and serves as the primary day-to-day leader of the accounting team, including oversight of Pay Ready's offshore accounting partner. The Senior Accounting Manager is expected to operate independently on recurring workstreams while partnering closely with the CFO on strategic and board-level deliverables.

Core Responsibilities

Financial Close & Reporting

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process end-to-end, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain and improve the close checklist in Asana, driving accountability across the team
  • Prepare consolidated income statements and balance sheet packages in NetSuite, including acquisition-related entities (e.g., BuzzCRS and Legal Tech)
  • Manage accruals, including executive bonus accruals, deferred revenue, and acquisition-related D&A

FP&A & Business Partnering

  • Produce monthly budget-vs-actual variance analysis with written commentary for the CFO and leadership team
  • Support board package preparation and investor-facing financial reporting
  • Maintain and update the cash flow forecast
  • Partner with department heads on headcount planning and OpEx management

Accounting Operations & Compliance

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll coordination, and month-end reconciliations
  • Own sales tax compliance via Stripe including filing oversight
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal requirements (e.g., unclaimed property, franchise tax filings)
  • Oversee Stripe billing reconciliation and revenue recognition accuracy
  • Maintain audit and tax readiness; coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors as needed
  • Ensure compliance with escheatment process and liability reconciliations

Systems & Tools

  • Serve as the primary internal owner of NetSuite and Asana for finance workflows
  • Support Looker and analytics integrations as they relate to financial reporting and KPIs
  • Drive process improvements and automation across the finance tech stack in conjunction with the CFO

Team Leadership

  • Lead weekly Finance team operating cadence, including structured 1:1s and team meetings
  • Manage and develop junior finance staff and coordinate deliverables with Consero offshore team
  • Build scalable processes appropriate for a high-growth SaaS environment
