Senior Accountant – Overview
We are seeking an Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial operations of Cove/Deck2. The role reports directly to the Finance Director and provides hands-on exposure to multi-entity accounting, operations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a lean, fast paced and professional environment. This role is based in our harbour front Manly office, located directly across from the Ferry terminal for easy commuting. We’re a hybrid workplace and ask that the team works in-person at least 3 days per week.

Cove creates and provides an AI native platform with innovative insurance products, pricing models and front-end components enabling rapid integration for better business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Manage and maintain Xero general ledgers for multiple entities (holding companies, SPVs, trusts, operating companies)
- Prepare monthly reporting and supporting schedules
- Prepare payroll runs, reporting and associated compliance
- Perform bank, investment and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage and complete month-end and year-end close processes
- Support intercompany accounting and eliminations
Cash Management & Operations
- Manage cash balance monitoring across entities
- Process payments, wires, and expense reimbursements with appropriate controls
- Support cash flow tracking and forecasting
- Maintain orderly records of banking and transaction activity
Investment & Portfolio Support
- Assist with record keeping of investment transactions across asset classes
- Maintain investment schedules (cost, valuations, cash flows)
Tax & Compliance Support
- Support on preparation of entity records and supporting documentation for tax advisor and planning
- Prepare workpapers and schedules for external tax advisors
- Assist with tax review processes as required
- Maintain company secretarial and ASIC compliance records, ensuring accurate, timely lodgements and up-to-date statutory registers.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Attained or material progress toward CPA / CA or equivalent qualification preferred
- 3-5 years of accounting experience (public accounting, family office, fund, or professional services experience preferred)
- Deep understanding of core accounting principles
- Strong Excel skills; experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero – preferred)
- Experience working in software and tech preferred
