About the Job
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the company's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and supporting the Finance Division in maintaining effective financial controls.
The role supports the company's operations by preparing financial statements, monitoring accounting activities, coordinating audits, and ensuring the timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Managing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial records;
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports;
- Recording, reviewing, and reconciling accounting transactions in accordance with applicable accounting standards;
- Preparing and submitting tax declarations in compliance with Albanian tax legislation;
- Reconciling bank accounts, suppliers, customers, and general ledger accounts;
- Supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes;
- Monitoring financial transactions and ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policies;
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses for management;
- Supporting internal and external audit processes by providing the required documentation and explanations;
- Monitoring changes in accounting and tax legislation and ensuring their proper implementation;
- Coordinating with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and documentation;
- Supporting the continuous improvement of accounting processes and financial controls;
- Performing other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.
To do this as a professional, you must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in accounting or finance;
- Strong knowledge of Albanian accounting standards, tax legislation, and financial reporting requirements;
- Experience preparing financial statements, tax declarations, and reconciliations;
- Experience working with accounting software and ERP systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics is considered an advantage);
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills;
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines;
- Good command of English;
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
