Role Description

This is a specialized finance role for a Project Finance Specialist, responsible for managing the financial planning, analysis, and control of projects throughout their lifecycle. The role focuses on ensuring projects are financially viable, properly funded, and effectively monitored to achieve budgetary and performance objectives.

The Project Finance Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining project budgets, financial models, and cost forecasts. They analyze project expenditures, monitor cash flow, and ensure alignment between financial plans and actual project performance. This includes identifying variances, investigating discrepancies, and providing recommendations for corrective actions.

Additional responsibilities include supporting project approval processes through financial feasibility analysis, risk assessment, and return-on-investment evaluation. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, procurement teams, and senior stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy and accountability across all project phases.

The role also includes preparing financial reports, progress summaries, and performance dashboards for management review. The Project Finance Specialist ensures compliance with internal financial policies, accounting standards, and external regulatory requirements.

In addition, the position may involve supporting contract review and cost control activities, ensuring that project spending is properly tracked and aligned with contractual obligations and funding structures.

This role requires strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage complex financial data within multiple concurrent projects.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and cost control principles

  • Understanding of accounting standards and financial compliance requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CFA, CPA) is an advantage
