The Role:
You will work closely with the Programme and PMO team within a newly established Programme delivery team.
The role will play a key part in supporting the successful delivery of the programme, requiring a strong understanding of the Contract and its Financial Reporting Requirements.
The position would suit someone with experience working across complex, multi-layered programmes and establishing effective reporting structures to monitor and control costs.
The role will work closely with project and control account managers, supporting regular reporting and forecasting activities to track delivery costs against programme outputs.
Responsibilities will also include preparing budgets for contractual work, monitoring actual spend, and assessing the impact of schedule changes on cost outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain Cost Control Systems
- Perform analysis and prepare reports aligned to contractual outputs
- Monitor costs and cost composition against agreed parameters and government cost principles
- Establish budgets for contracted work activities
- Conduct financial analysis of cost projections and baselines, reporting detailed variances and trends
- Prepare programme plans to ensure requirements within Statements of Work are effectively planned and captured
- Perform risk analysis to identify programme cost risks and potential issues
- Incorporate contractual changes into work systems to maintain accurate cost and sales baselines, forecasts, and analysis
- Ensure costs are allocated in line with established processes and controls
Required skills, qualifications and experience :
- Effective communicator and confident presenter
- Advanced MS Office Tools capability, with an emphasis on Excel
- Financial Control and Reporting
- Earned Value Management knowledge
- Project Cost Control and Performance Reporting
Desired skills:
- Project management within the Defence and Space Industry
- Stakeholder engagement and management
- Standard Costing methodology
- Experience of Government Single Sourcing Regulation
People Qualifications and Experience :
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6 years of professional experience; or 4 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
