Job Purpose
The Professional Indirect Tax Accountant will be responsible for supporting the Associate Director, Indirect Tax and the Manager Indirect Tax in delivering service excellence to the business in reporting for indirect taxes (e.g. VAT, excise taxes, Intrastat, etc.), continuous process improvement and business partnering with the business.
This position will be tasked with ensuring the maintenance of VAT, excise tax and other Indirect tax requirements in SAP, inquiries coming from the tax authorities, indirect tax compliance filings and reporting. The person may act as primary contact with local authorities on indirect tax matters and resolving queries.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that CCEP policies are adhered to (e.g. approvals, financial guidelines, etc.)
- Ensures the general ledger tax accounts are accurate and recorded timely
- Ensure VAT and other Indirect tax compliance, filing and reporting
- Handles identified issues, queries and needs from tax authorities and ensure timely resolution
- Supports internally different departments across the organization (accounting, supply chain, sales etc.) for all indirect taxes issues
- Documents indirect tax processes and updates the documentation in case of a process change
- Supplies advice on indirect tax processes and support continuous improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects
- Ensures compliance with company policies, relevant accounting and tax requirements and internal controls (SOX)
- Supports the Associate Director Indirect Tax EU and the Manager EU Indirect Taxes in driving end-to-end standard indirect tax processes across countries
- Assists in developing best practice processes and highlighting opportunities for process improvement

Experience Required
- Minimum of 3 years accounting experience preferably in a multinational a shared services environment and/or big 4 audit firm
- Ability to address or escalate complex issues relating to indirect taxes (eg, VAT, Intrastat, excise taxes, etc.)
- Knowledge of general accounting and indirect tax reporting and requirements of regulatory agencies (VAT, excise tax, etc.)
Language Capability & expert level
- English – fluent
Education & Qualifications Required
- University Degree and/or professional accounting or tax qualification
- Strong ERP experience essential, preferably SAP and Excel
