Your main mission as a Procurement Manager is to lead and coordinate purchasing operations in Aruba, ensuring an efficient and competitive supply chain aligned with the company’s quality and sustainability standards. This position combines hands-on operational procurement responsibilities with key functions to support the group’s global sustainability goals.
As a Procurement Manager what will your day-to-day work be like?:
-Coordinate and execute non-recurring purchases for the country, ensuring accurate requisition management, budget compliance, and timely delivery.
-Implement regional/global procurement strategies defined by Category or Global Managers, adapting them to meet local operational requirements.
-Participate in regional procurement processes (tenders, auctions, spend analysis) or support Global Managers in coordinating global initiatives, tracking KPIs, and managing stakeholder communication.
-Resolve operational procurement issues, including billing discrepancies, delivery delays, returns, claims, and supplier credits.
-Monitor local and regional suppliers to ensure compliance with agreed terms and address recurring performance issues.
-Collaborate with Category Managers to adapt and execute local contracts, delivery conditions, and framework agreements within the country.
-Supervise and support country-based Buyers and Assistants, distributing operational tasks and ensuring continuous supply chain flow.
-Provide practical and operational guidance to the team to enhance daily efficiency and process documentation management.
-Act as a liaison between the local team and regional/global structures to ensure seamless communication and effective application of corporate guidelines.
-Monitor local KPIs related to operational efficiency, lead times, and cost control.
-Ensure accurate system records for orders, approvals, deliveries, and payments to guarantee full traceability and compliance.
-Participate in periodic process reviews to identify operational improvements and provide data-driven insights for strategic regional analysis.
-Propose operational adjustments to increase process agility and efficiency within the country.
-Enforce procurement policies, procedures, and sustainability/compliance standards (ESG).
-Collect and report key supplier sustainability data (e.g., certifications, responsible practices, product origin).
-Foster ethical relationships with local and regional suppliers aligned with corporate values.
-Partner with Finance, Operations, Accounting, and Warehousing to ensure the smooth flow of goods, services, and documentation.
-Support internal meetings, performance reviews, and operational improvement plans.
-Assist in managing local and regional payments to ensure adherence to terms and prevent administrative bottlenecks.
Academic Qualification:
-Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Economics, International Trade, or related fields. An MBA or a specialization in Procurement/Supply Chain is a plus.
Experience:
– 3 to 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management within the hospitality (hotel), retail, or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sectors. Proven experience leading teams and managing strategic negotiations.
Tools:
-Advanced proficiency in procurement and sourcing platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
Analytical Skills:
-Ability to develop procurement strategies, perform cost analysis, and evaluate local suppliers.
Negotiation Expertise:
-Experience in high-level negotiations, e-auctions, strategic contracting, and rebate agreements (rappel).
Languages:
-Spanish, Advanced / Fluent
