Role & responsibilities : Financial Spreading & Financial Ratios Analyst
Responsible for analyzing and standardizing borrower financial statements for ratio analysis, trend analysis, cross-borrower comparison, Financial spreading, covenant monitoring, and credit review.
- Conduct in-depth reviews of Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement, including relevant notes to accounts.
- Classify income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and cash flows in accordance with the banks prescribed guidelines.
- Coordinate with Credit Managers/Relationship Managers to obtain borrower financials or source them from public domains.
- Ensure high accuracy while updating validated data in the banks financial platform.
- Perform ratio analysis and covenant monitoring, including marking off and reviewing covenants in client-required applications.
- Manage workflow applications by raising queries, requesting missing documents, and addressing covenant headroom, breaches, and margin variances.
- Verify that all balances reconcile with financial statements after spreading is completed.
- Generate reports on the banks financial platform to calculate ratios and risk metrics.
Preferred candidate profile :
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Knowledge of financial spreading systems is an advantage.
- Familiarity with UK accounting standards (IFRS) is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years experience in financial spreading, and covenant monitoring process.
- Strong grasp of UK GAAP, IFRS, and UK credit risk frameworks.
- Experience with financial spreading tools (e.g., Moodys, S&P, Excel models).
