PIM: Senior Associate Jobs in Cape Town, South Africa at Edge Growth
Edge Growth Ventures is looking for a high-performing Post-Investment Management Senior Associate to manage a portfolio of early‑stage, high‑growth impact investments. This role is hands‑on value creation—working directly with founders to unlock growth, drive performance, and shape strategy across diverse SMEs.
You’ll operate with a high level of autonomy, owning investments from post‑deal handover through to exit while influencing investment decisions and portfolio strategy.
Portfolio Ownership & Value Creation
- Take full ownership of allocated portfolio companies from handover to exit
- Partner with founders to drive financial performance and modelling, strategy development and execution, and business scaling and operational improvements
- Support capital raising initiatives and market expansion
- Lead restructures, turnarounds, and value unlock initiatives
- Drive performance against portfolio targets
Investment & Deal Support
- Lead preparation and review of follow‑on funding proposals
- Present to Investment Committee with clear recommendations
- Assess deal rationale, structure, and strategic fit
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure strong governance practices across portfolio companies
- Monitor compliance and performance across investments
- Identify risks and recommend corrective actions
Stakeholder Management
- Deliver high‑quality portfolio reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Build strong relationships with founders, investors, and partners
Legal & Risk Oversight
- Manage legal and compliance issues within portfolio companies
- Work with legal advisors on amendments and enforcement actions
Portfolio Operations
- Contribute to improving portfolio management processes and systems
- Maintain high‑quality data, reporting, and internal knowledge systems
Requirements
Experience
- 3–5 years’ experience in impact investing, venture capital, or private equity (post‑investment preferred)
Qualification
- Or Actuarial Science, Statistics or equivalent
